How do we celebrate

The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 2 August . This day marks the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand Singh, the hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932 and 1936.

The Importance of Sports Day for Child Development

Summer at school means getting ready for sports days. It’s a great way to round off the end of the school year with a few activities, some of which are fun while others are competitive.

This is a chance for children who have a passion for outdoor sports and team games to shine. Many schools also divide children into different houses to add a competitive team element, giving them the chance to score points for their house as well as gaining individual kudos.
